China Airlines will expand its presence in North America with the addition of new non-stop flights to Seattle this summer.
Starting July 14, the Taiwan-based carrier will launch flights from Taipei-Taoyuan to Seattle. Operating five-times weekly, China Airlines will use Airbus A350-900 aircraft on the new route.
Seattle will be China Airlines' sixth destination in North America where it currently operates flights to Los Angeles, Ontario (California), San Francisco, New York, and Vancouver.
According to China Airlines, the carrier seeks to take advantage of the strong demand in the US-Taiwan travel market with the new route to Seattle.
“More than 50 million travelers passed through Seattle Airport in 2023 making it the largest airport in Northwest USA. The new Seattle service features morning arrivals and evening departures for the convenience of travelers flying to and from North America or major cities in Asia. China Airlines can also provide interline ticketing to 50 popular inland destination cities, including Portland, Chicago, Boston, Las Vegas, Orlando, and Atlanta. Expansion of the US inland market strengthens the overall air network,” the airline said in a statement.
At present, EVA Air is the sole carrier to operate flights between Taipei and Seattle. China Airlines is the third airline to announce it will launch flights on the route, following Delta (starting June 6) and Starlux (August 16).
